On Friday 29th December, during that ordinarily dull period between Christmas and New Year's Eve, Stevenage Old Town was astir with a new, local, live music night. Taking place in the newly renovated Hotel Cromwell Suite was a night of sophistication and tunes.
Two incredibly passionate and talented performers were well received by the audience, proving the night to be an excellent opportunity for local talent to reinvigorate Stevenage's live music scene. Table clothed tables and candlelit diners were pleasantly entertained with drinks, dining and, of course, brilliant live music.
Support act Taylor Nathan impressed all with his folky original tunes, amidst a few unconventional covers from the likes of Nirvana. Thoroughly at ease with an acoustic guitar and vocally ideal for fans of the likes of Ben Howard, Taylor Nathan is certainly someone to have on your music radar if you love chilled out material with soul.
Mark Sullivan brought his contagious energy to the stage, emphasising his drive and love of music. His lyrics are pensive alongside intricate melodies from his masterful guitar playing, almost juxtaposing the thick buzz of emotion that radiated from him on stage. Mark is a performer that truly loves what he does, and happily humoured the audience with a cover or two amongst his own original music.
Practice Roomz Presentz is to become a regular music event targeted at music fans that want the glamour of Ronnie Scott's in Hertfordshire. It's all about relaxation and indulgence in the sounds of new talent.
