MARK HEANEY - MASTERCLASS DATE ANNOUNCED! SATURDAY 23rd FEBRUARY
We are very pleased to announce that we finally have a date confirmed for the much anticipated Mark Heaney Masterclass here at The Practice Roomz.
We are lucky enough to often get touring artists and session level players using the studios in the days and one of the guys who we work with and see on a regular basis is Mark Heaney.
An English drummer and composer from London, Mark has worked with The Seahorses (1998–1999), The Shining (2001–2002) and Gang of Four (2006–2013)
Heaney's interest in drumming began at the age of 5 when his father bought him his first drum kit and at the age of 10 he started working all over the UK as the feature drummer in his father's band. Heaney has recorded/toured the world extensively including tours of China, Japan, North America, Canada, South America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand with artists and Producers such as Mark Howard (producer) (Bob Dylan, U2, Neil Young), John Squire (The Stone Roses and The Seahorses), Simon Tong, Simon Jones and Nick McCabe (The Verve), The Freelance Hellraiser; The Klaxons, Badly Drawn Boy; Shit Disco; Howie Day, Gail Ann Dorsey (David Bowie and Gwen Stefani), Threshold, Youth, Garret Lee, David Botrill, Andy Gill and many others. Heaney also creates music for Film and TV and has composed work for companies such as EMI, De Wolfe, Extreme and Microsoft
Drumscapes is his solo studio/live project which features his live drums set against a backdrop of soundscapes, loops and electronica. Mark uses Ableton live and a midi controller to manipulate the audio and create in the moment.
